Can you update the text on my website?

E-3 can update the text on your website. Email support@e3help.me or call 814-399-4655 with the page address, the words there now and the words you want instead. A person at E-3 makes the change, and bigger changes are tested on a staging copy first. Website care includes daily backups, so an earlier version can be restored.

How do I ask E-3 to change the wording?

  1. Open the page in your browser and copy the address from the address bar, for example yoursite.com/about. If the words appear on every page, such as a tagline in the header, say “every page.”
  2. Copy the words that are there now, or describe the spot: “the paragraph under the big photo.”
  3. Write what it should say. Paste the exact new wording if you have it. If you only know the idea, describe it.
  4. Attach anything that goes with it, such as a new photo or a price list.
  5. Add a date if it matters, such as “live before our open house on the 12th.”
  6. Send it to support@e3help.me, or use the Get support form. For something wrong that customers will act on, like a wrong phone number on the home page, call 814-399-4655 too.

What to expect: a reply, usually within one business day.

What does a good request look like?

Page: yoursite.com/services

Now: “We serve Somerset County.”

Change to: “We serve Somerset and Cambria counties.”

That’s enough. No special format.

The short version

  • Yes. Send the page address, the current words and the new words to support@e3help.me.
  • You don’t need a login, or perfect wording. Bigger changes are tested on a staging copy first.

What happens after I send it?

  1. A person at E-3 makes the change. Bigger changes go to a staging copy first, so they’re tested before they reach the live site.
  2. If something isn’t right, tell us. Website care includes daily backups, so an earlier version can be restored. See how to undo a change.

Why does it help to be exact?

“The hours look off” needs a follow-up question before anyone can act. “Change Tuesday to Thursday in the second paragraph” can be drafted straight away. Exact requests come back faster and with fewer rounds of fixes.

It also protects you. You know your services, staff names and prices better than anyone. When the new words come from you, the page says what you mean.

What are the common mistakes and edge cases?

If you can’t find the text on the page, that’s usually because header and footer text usually lives in a site-wide area, not on the page itself. On classic WordPress themes it’s often in a widget, edited under Appearance, then Widgets, as WordPress describes on its Widgets screen page. On newer block themes it’s in the Site Editor. Either way, tell us the words.

The same detail appears in several places

Phone numbers, hours and service areas often repeat on the home page, the contact page and the footer. If you’re changing one of those, see how to update your phone number, address or hours.

Many changes at once

A list of changes for one page in one email is easy to track. Unrelated jobs, like a typo fix and a new page, are clearer as two emails.

The text is part of a picture

Words inside an image can’t be edited as text. Replacing the picture with real text is often better: it’s easier to update and easier to read on a phone.

Bigger than an edit

A new section, a new layout or a reworked page may need a short call first. See what’s included when E-3 looks after your site.

How do I show you the exact spot?

A screenshot with the spot circled saves a lot of back-and-forth.

  • On a Mac, press Shift-Command-4 and drag across the area. Apple lists the options in its guide to taking a screenshot on Mac.
  • On Windows, press the Windows logo key, Shift and S, then drag across the area. Microsoft explains this in its Snipping Tool guide.
  • On a phone, take a normal screenshot and attach it.

Crop out anything private, such as customer names or an open email, before you send it.

What if this didn’t work?

  • No reply after a business day? Call 814-399-4655. Filters sometimes catch emails with large attachments.
  • The change isn’t what you asked for? Reply with what’s different.
  • Not sure what to ask for? Describe the problem, such as “customers keep calling to ask if we do weekends.”
  • Want to make small edits yourself? See how to edit the text on your website yourself.

How does E-3 handle this?

You send the request by email, phone or the Get support form. A person at E-3 makes the change, and updates and bigger changes are tested on a staging copy first. Website care includes daily backups, so an earlier version can be restored if something isn’t right. Questions? Email support@e3help.me.
