Miami Valley Golf Club: a private club site that sells membership

Miami Valley Golf Club is a private golf club whose site makes a simple case: all golf, no tee times, flat membership. Big course photography and a clear membership path do the work. E-3 hosts the site.

Miami Valley Golf Club is a private golf club in the Dayton area. Its pitch is direct: a club dedicated solely to golf. Members get no tee times, a four-hour pace of play and flat membership rates with no food minimums or extra fees. The club also runs a seasonal pool.

What the site has to do

A private club competes with public courses and with country clubs that bundle golf into a bigger package. The site has to make a clear argument for a different kind of membership, show the course at its best, and make applying easy. It also has to keep members informed day to day, about things like opening times and whether carts are available.

What’s on the site

  • A full-width photo of the course, with the headline “A True Golf Club” and an “Apply for Membership” button.
  • A course status line under the hero, updated with the day’s opening time and cart availability.
  • A plain-spoken comparison section: why public golf is frustrating, and why bundled country-club fees can be wasteful.
  • “Saving you time” and “Saving you money” sections that sum up the club’s offer.
  • Membership options set out side by side, with what each includes, and repeated “Apply for Membership” buttons.
  • Pool membership information for the season.
  • Golf, pool and contact pages.

The menu has only four items. Everything on the homepage points toward one action, applying for membership, which is exactly the job the site exists to do.

What E-3 did

E-3 designed and built the site. E-3 hosts the Miami Valley Golf Club site on managed WordPress hosting. Our monitoring checks the site for available updates and known plugin vulnerabilities, so we can catch issues early, ideally before members checking the course status notice anything.

The site runs on WordPress with the Sydney Pro theme and Beaver Builder. The daily course status line runs on a news ticker plugin, which keeps that short, changing message separate from the rest of the page.
