When do your domain and SSL expire?
Enter your website address to see when your domain registration runs out, and the newest SSL certificate issued for it, from public registry and certificate logs. It doesn’t test the certificate your server is using right now. Nothing is stored.
How to use it
- Type your website address.
- We check the public domain registry (RDAP) and certificate transparency logs.
- Note the dates, and turn on auto-renew if anything is close.

- How do I change DNS records without breaking my email?Save a copy of every record before touching anything. Change only the records the job needs, and leave MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC alone unless email itself is moving. For a nameserver switch, compare the new zone against your copy line by line. Lower the TTL at least one TTL ahead, then test website and email afterward.
- What happens if my domain name expires?Your website and email on that domain will stop working. For endings like .com, the registrar cuts off DNS before deleting the domain, but the timing and renewal window vary by registrar. Renew the same day. After deletion there's often a 30-day redemption period with a fee, then five days of pending delete, then anyone can register it.
- Who should own my business domain name?Your business should. Register the domain in the business's name, with contact details you control, in a registrar account the business can log into. Your web team can be given access to manage it, but shouldn't hold it in their own account. Then you can change designers, hosts or email providers without asking anyone.
