Technology Strategy & Executive Advisory
e3 Advisory brings 25 years of leading technology initiatives for growing organizations, combined with deep client relationships and AI-orchestrated delivery. We don't send reports. We build partnerships and own outcomes.
About Larry Davis
I founded e3 Advisory on a simple conviction: the companies that need strategic technology leadership most are often the ones who can't justify a full-time CIO. PE-backed firms mid-transition. Growing enterprises with fragmented infrastructure. Organizations where technology decisions fall to whoever sounds most confident in the room.
I step into those situations and stay. Not as a consultant who hands you a roadmap and disappears, but as someone who owns the outcome alongside you. Twenty-five years of building and leading technology-driven organizations gave me the judgment I bring to every engagement today.
At the core of everything I do is a belief that technology strategy is ultimately about people. The teams who execute it, the leaders who fund it, the customers whose lives it touches. That belief shapes every decision I make.
Before fractional CIO was a category, I built one of the world's first curated photography platforms, assembling over 700 of the world's leading photographers from more than 100 countries. Steve Bloom. David Leeson. Amos Nachoum. A personal introduction, written by hand, for every single one of them.
With zero marketing budget, Profotos.com grew to over one million monthly visitors. Adobe, HP, and Kodak came to us with advertising contracts. The platform attracted angel investor interest and explored an IPO track in 2001.
It was a masterclass in relationship building, platform thinking, and scaling something from nothing. That foundation informs every engagement I take on today.
Three disciplines. One trusted advisor. We stay in the work — not just the strategy.
Most advisory firms deliver experience. We deliver experience orchestrated by AI, with faster insights, tighter execution, and a modern delivery model designed to help clients move faster with greater confidence. AI isn't a feature we offer. It's the operating system behind how we think, triage, build, and communicate. You get executive-caliber output at the pace your business demands.
Client requests are analyzed, categorized, and routed intelligently — so nothing falls through the cracks and every issue is addressed with the right priority, the right context, and the right person.
We build automation into the delivery model itself. Documentation, reporting, approvals, and communications flow without manual bottlenecks, giving our clients a faster and more consistent experience.
AI amplifies our advisory thinking by surfacing patterns, accelerating research, and generating insights that give clients a faster path to better decisions. We think faster. You move sooner.
Technology amplifies our work. It never replaces the relationship. Every AI-assisted output is reviewed, shaped, and delivered by someone who knows your business personally. The relationship is always the product.
Live Events · PE-Backed · Global
A PE-backed live events organization operating across dozens of legacy entities is unifying its infrastructure ahead of a major international contract tied to one of the world's largest sporting events. We're engaged as fractional CIO, conducting the technology assessment, shaping migration strategy, and guiding BEC security remediation alongside the client's internal team.
Apparel & Accessories · E-Commerce · National Brand
A nationally recognized apparel and accessories brand with deep wholesale roots and a growing direct-to-consumer presence engaged us as a long-term digital technology advisor. Over several years we have guided platform strategy across e-commerce, ERP integration, and digital operations, helping the brand navigate Shopify, NetSuite, and the complexity of managing wholesale and retail channels from a single technology foundation. The relationship is ongoing and built on trust earned over years of consistent delivery.
Photography · Platform · Global · Est. 2000
Before social platforms existed, Profotos.com became the world's premier curated photography destination with 700 elite photographers from over 100 countries and a personal introduction written for every one of them. Zero marketing budget. Over one million monthly visitors. Advertising contracts with Adobe, HP, and Kodak. Angel investor interest and an IPO-track conversation in 2001.
Financial Services · Compliance-Aware · Regional
A regional financial advisory group needed a modern web presence built to strict compliance requirements while projecting executive-level credibility. We delivered a fully custom static site with compliance-aware content architecture, a custom modal video system, and a mobile-optimized experience that performs and lasts.
Executives don't hire a vendor for a checklist. They hire judgment. This is the framework we bring to every engagement, the lens we use to evaluate risk, prioritize investment, and report to leadership.
Before any recommendation, we map the current state across infrastructure, security, vendors, and team capability so every decision starts from ground truth, not assumption. Our assessment methodology surfaces what's working, what's at risk, and what needs to change first.
We rank technology risk against business impact rather than technical severity alone, so leadership can see clearly which issues threaten revenue, compliance, or continuity. Risk is always presented in the language of the business, not the data center.
Technology decisions need an owner and a process. We establish the governance rhythm, defining who decides, who is informed, and how it is documented, so progress doesn't depend on any one person and your organization can scale without chaos.
CFOs and PE sponsors need clarity, not jargon. We translate technical reality into the language of risk, cost, and opportunity that drives real decisions — delivering board-ready reporting that builds confidence and eliminates surprises.
We help organizations separate genuine AI opportunity from noise, identifying where automation creates real leverage, where it adds risk without return, and how to build an AI adoption roadmap your team can actually execute.
For PE-backed and acquisitive organizations, we assess technology and infrastructure as part of the deal lens, surfacing integration risk before it becomes a post-close problem and building the roadmap that makes integration actually work.
Every engagement begins with genuine curiosity about your business. We invest in understanding before we advise. Our clients don't feel like accounts — they feel like partners. That's not a tagline. It's how we've sustained relationships for twenty years.
We don't hand you a roadmap and disappear. We stay in the work — holding the strategy, managing execution partners, reporting to your leadership — until the outcome is real and the value is measurable. If it isn't working, we say so.
We translate technology complexity into business language. CFOs, COOs, and PE sponsors get clear and honest reporting, never a smokescreen of technical jargon. You always know exactly where you stand and what comes next.
Our longest client relationships span two decades. We are not optimizing for the engagement fee. We are building something you will still value in ten years. That long view changes how we make every decision.
Technology is only as powerful as the relationships built around it. My job is to earn your trust first, then make your technology worthy of it.
